Photo by Ralph Lauer The Taste Challenge New eatery openings are fast and furious, but it’s the Taste Project that has served up much food for thought. The Fort Worth restaurant offers a serene dining environment matched by gracious volunteer servers and chef-prepared meals: a chili made with flavorful rib-eye, shrimp and grits made us want to lick our plate, along with other healthy dishes rich in flavor and beautiful to look at. And, yes, altruism is on the menu, too. Taste Project is a pay-what-you-can concept, a first for Fort Worth. It’s a challenge, as we are used to menus with prices. You fill in the numbers on your tab as you will, but questions linger. Are we paying enough? Are others paying their fair share? Are these guys going to make it? We sure hope so.
