When Christina Swisher and David Collins were planning their wedding, she hinted that she’d love for him to sing at their reception — “He has a pretty remarkable voice,” she says — but accepted his decision not to. So at their reception at The White Sparrow, when she heard the music skip during their first dance to Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are The Best Thing,” she figured it was a wedding glitch and just kept dancing. But then DJ Andy Austin handed the microphone to David, who took over the song’s vocals, singing to his bride. Christina was overjoyed and surprised but says she should have seen it coming. “This is completely characteristic of my husband — the most thoughtful man I’ve ever known, a man who loves to make me laugh and enjoy moments to the fullest and who loves and celebrates me above himself,” she says. “Plus, who doesn’t want to be serenaded by an unbelievably handsome man, not to mention their longtime college crush?”
